HIVE ALIVE! was our inaugural swarm that took place in Sydney at Alpha House Gallery 226 Union Street, Erskineville from 21–30 September 2016.

HIVE ALIVE! visual and performing arts, and the associated public program showcased over thirty-three artists with twenty-five Australian artists from the ACT, NSW, QLD, NT and VIC and another eight of the featured artists from Europe and the United Kingdom.

HIVE ALIVE! included a multi media exhibition, performance events, film screenings, a public program of workshops, artist talks and a neighbourhood hive walk. The exhibition featured sculpture, drawings, prints, photography, video, assemblage, light and sound installations and a self-published catalogue-zine.
